Gauges acting up

My dash gauges started acting funny on my 2005. The tach will read low, the fuel gauge and temp gauge can be either high or low. If I turn the bike off and restart it they are all good. Speedometer and odometer are good. Any ideas?

Look for a loose ground or connector is where I'd start from the clue that there are more than one acting up. Just my 2cents

Plug was good. I had to disconnect it to replace my low beam HID bulb that has also quit working. Could a burnt out HID cause my gauge problem?

How long ago did you install your HID?

i had the same issue once, i think it was a loose connector. now my tach jumps around for no particular reason.

The HID was install over three years ago. I'm not sure how long it's been burnt out. Could be about the same time my gauges started acting up a couple of rides ago.

My money is on the HIDs. Have the ballasts moved?

I've had the HID for over 3 years with no problems until now. I put the stock bulb back in and I'll see if that helps until I can get a new HID bulb.

+1 on this.
The HID system can produce some nasty voltage spikes on the electrical system
which in turn can affect the digital logic circuits. Good place to start looking.
