Gaining Weight!

No I'm not gaining weight, but its something I had a problem with all my life. I've always been, hate to say this, scronny! Everyone I know whose gotten married has gained weight since I've last seen them but I'm not exactly ready for marriage haha. I've never been able to get over 150 lbs and I'm about 6'3-6'4 and it doesn't always look all that great. One of my goals before I kill myself on the busa is to get up to at least 175-180 (lbs, not mph

).

I've tried everything from working out to even chugging down those 'weight gainer' shakes. I was always told to eat more than I burn, which makes sense, but apparently I burn too much and I don't have the time to keep stuffing my face due to a really sh**** work schedule. Any of you health specialists / personal trainers / weight lifters / cat lovers have any advice? Any way I can possibly slow down my metabolism? If it requires removing a piece of organ, I'll gladly do it and post up a How-To for anyone else with this problem I DON'T CARE! Just tired of the boniness

if you smoke then quit. if your'e anything like me you'll gain about twenty pounds.or just eat nachos or hotdogs right before you go to sleep, that also gave me a bit of a potbelly. i had to start jogging to try to get mine off.

Simple, just eat twice as much during every sitting. Buy bags and bags of potato chips to munch on after work, drink a lot of beer and the real winner is Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches, have one or two with every meal.
Regardless, you cannot escape genetics. If you are genetically an ectomorph, you will struggle to put on weight since you're physiology will simply ask for less food.
I have always been heavy at 6'4" (currently near 270lbs) and I have always loved to eat. Growing up, I used to drink milk like people drink water, in large volumes. It got so bad that my parents rationed it to make me cut down.
With your s***y work schedule, it will be tough to gain. I know this because when I have been extremely busy working a full time and a part time job, I have lost significant amounts of weight.

uh.... dont ... i used to be 125 at 5 10 when i graduated highschool. very athletic. got married slowed down gained wieght. now 20 years later im 265 without the knees or shoulders to actually try to get back into shape. i dont eat much at all i just had my metabolism change due to one thing or another. enjoy what you have.. watch your health. your body will be what it was designed geneticly to be

I say stop being so self conscience and accept yourself for who you are, it's probably just your metabolism and might just be a good thing healthwise. Also when you hit about 50 you might be in for a little suprise, just out of the blue one day you might notice about 25 extra lbs of fat on your torso that never seemed to be there before
wowold.gif
Oh and did I mention that now it seems that now matter how much you exercise and how much you don't eat it just wont go away...now your like

I have to order 38" waist leathers when last year I wore 32" fuc..

Good advice here. Before you do anything, I strongly suggest you see a doctor. If you are underweight, a doctor will know how to help you gain safely and in a healthy way.

I have been 150lbs since high school. I'd like to gain about 10 more. My method is stationary exercise with cardio once a week just so I can keep up with running, which I hate and suck at. If you're going to eat more, go with healthy food with lots of substance. I would suggest you lift free weights 6x a week and eat 4 regular meals with snacks. I have been doing this for about the past month and have put on 5 healthy pounds. btw I'm closest to the cat lover category you listed, even though I hate those little creatures :E

Let me tell you right now that you should not be complaining about trying to gain weight. Being lean and trim is a really good thing. Most Americans are plain out overweight. I lost 20 lbs of fat in the past 3 months. I actually have a ripped stomach now (havn't seen my abs in 20 yrs) and I feel great!
I eat only healhy foods and work out all the time. Life is good!

I think the way most people do it is to get a box of Crispy cream donuts every day and sit in front of the TV.

Once you finish the box of crispy creams wait until about 11:30 and order Dominos (delivered of course you dont want to burn the calories driving yourself down to get it.)

Make sure you wash everything down with diet soda.

The above seems to work for most people

Short of hitting the Horsey Sauce I think your stuck....
And from the sounds of things that not a bad place to be, cause from the other side of the fence I can tell you its a struggle everyday.

three bean burritos and a tupperware bowl of ice cream with 2 huge scoops of peanut butter in it every night just before you go to bed

I thought I was the only one that had this problem. I'm 6'3 right at 185. I been here for six years now. When I was 18 I was the same height but only 150 lbs. I'm active but dont work out. I did just get a membership to the gym a couple of week ago though

. I have eaten what I want when I want and cant seem to gain weight. So I'm 28 and just gonna keep trying, we'll see if the gym and protein shakes wont do it. I wanna see 215 lbs.

Get your B-12 levels checked. My dad kept losing weight and the Dr. was afraid he had cance... but when he ran the bloodwork, no cancer (
please.gif
Thank God) but his B-12 levels were WAY LOW.... meaning he could eat like a horse, but his body wasn't absorbing any of the nutrients.... basically self starvation .. led by the body.

So now he is on B-12 pills.. if that doesn't put weight on him, he will have to go to twice monthly B-12 SHOTS

Wish I was in your shoes... I got about 60lbs I can throw your way.. and a bunch of good homecooked food!

I would like to gain any kind of weight because I am pretty active so I'm sure I can work it out one way or another. I did a search regarding the B12 Vitamin and from what I understand, its tied with protein. If that comes in pill form, that would be good for me while I'm at work along with other snacks to keep me from getting hungry. For one week, I ate two cans of sardines with a bunch of bread before I slept and I noticed when I woke up I actually felt good.. I got sick of eating all those sardines but I'm thinking of going back to it and staying on it for at least a month to see what happens.

And Jules, if you want to adopt me for a week or two, I'd be more than happy to accept the offer
