I have my passport mounted to the dash wedged in...with heavy duty Velcro on the dash...works great

I plug in to a mixer so the sound is intense

my question is, it just starting sporadically resetting itself off and on... but it isn't consistent enough to trace it

I have the ground to the battery and the power tapped into my headlight so it turns off and on with the ignition

any thoughts what could be causing the reset???

I've seen my headlight flicker while riding, I havent traced the root cause but since that is your power source the flicker could cause the reset.

I'd switch your power source to the accessory/running light plug and see if that fixes it.

May be the RJ-11 (phone plug) going into the detector is not making good contact. Mine over the months has started acting up and I have to wiggle the plug for it to settle and make a good contact. I need to get a new plug, I think moisture and weathering over time builds up deposits on the connection in there.

hmm both good suggestions... might just swap out the plug... hope its not the detector

where is the accessory plug you speak of???
