That looks like correct bulb.
the 3 metal tabs on there you may to bend them up just ever so little.
Not even really bend , just tweak em up a bit.
Give it a test fit and twist first.
Mine was just a bit loose even after twist so I teaked the tabs a bit to make the fit that much tighter as well as put just a pinhead size drop of superglue on each tab to secure it.
Not enough to glue it permanently but just a pinhead to hold it.
DOnt want to get it all back together and have it come loose first bump you hit.

Also be careful handling that buld.
DO NOT LET ANYTHING TOUCH THE GLASS..
IF SO LIGHTLY CLEAN IT WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL TO REMOVE ANY GREASE OR FINGERPRINTS.
ANYTHING ON BULB WHEN IT LIGHTS MAY CAUSE IT TO POP

That does look like the right bulb and like Blanca said, try your hardest not to let anything touch that bulb. You don't want it to pop after you spent all that money to buy them and time to put them in.

OK....thanks for the info guys...I'll try, but the tabs on the bulbs themselves don't align at all:

the new H9 and the old OEM bulb...see the tabs are way out on the peremiter on the OEM and the H9 has zero tabs???

Only thing throwing me off is yr of your bike 2003 ?
Dont know why tabs on your oem are on plastic body.
Is it all apart, can you just give it a simple test fit
Not sure why bulb looks diff as it is same H9 as mine (2009)
look ... see...my oem bulb

Does it say H9 ?

Seem to think I'm remembering GenI takes a diff Hi-Beam bulb ?

I'll pm text WrbirdII now and get him to clarify for us .

Thanks for your quick response BB, really appreciate it.

This is so frustrating! First I thought I read post said needed H7, turns out, Nope!...then I read it's H9....NOPE!
so now I've got 2 sets that don't fit!!!!

The back of my OEM says:
Sylvania
9005 HB30

After searching to try to help it seems we already have tried BUT nobody noticed yr of your bike ?

Seems like GenI takes a different hi-beam.
In thread above we all told you H9 and now I feel responsible for your certain current cursing.....

Looks like I'm ordering a 3RD set! DDM #9005 must be it!

Well it's only $15 with shipping for a set of replacement bulbs......anybody need an extra bulb...or two! Got two H7's and two H9's for CHEAP!

No...... I only blame myself....you guys are the Best and only trying to help.

...and the low beam is a H1... Ha! How is that for confusing!
Already got it installed and works fine.

BB, Thanks for the offer...no need, no worrires and no blame placed.....you guys have my highest respect. I just chaulk it up to experience.
....but if you know anybody that needs some bulbs I'd like to "pay it forward"

...I'm sure most people would think using "second hand" bulbs is like buying used underware:whistle:....scary and risky....but these are NIB...(just have the rubber grommets cut off)

Send them back and tell them you got the wrong ones ?
I don't know what happened I ordered a 9005 and you sent me an h9 ?
I'm pissed, how soon are you going to send me the correct bulb ?

Not worth the time and trouble for $15, besides I already cut off the rubber gaskets

Like Underware, I wouldn't take them back if I was them!
