Cleaning front sprocket cavity?

What is the best way to clean out the cavity the front sprocket is in? I need to swap my front sprocket tonight and while im in there want to get everything cleaned off. It's got a bunch of building up random chain lube and the chain wax and all the rest of the poop that gets caught up in there. Is it as easy as blasting it out with a bunch of brake/chain cleaner?

We used to be able to get a good degreaser called "Simple Green" and it worked great...that and an old toothbrush worked great....

I have been using Simple Green for years, and it really works great...I have 16 gallons of the lemon flavor in my parts washer.
No poison fumes, and doesn't eat your skin, so it's basement safe, lol
The Dawn Powerwash sprays on as a foam, so it's easier to keep it where you need it, but when it comes to liquid degreaser, I always use Simple Green.
