Can’t install Bonamici Brake lever guard

I bought the Universal Brake Lever Guard from Bonamici and I can’t install it on my 21 Busa.

It came with a 16-17 mm adapter that it doesn’t work with my bike.

The adapter is larger than my handlebar opening.

And inside the handlebar there is a screw thread that I might destroy with the adapter (there also smaller adapters 13 to 14 mm, and 14 to 15 mm).

What should I do? This is my first time with brake lever guards.

The adapter would be for hollow bars that don’t have a thread in them which would be mean when tightened, the inner pieces pull together and expand creating a tight fit.

As Sixpack stated, use the correct size bolt and it’ll easily screw straight in.

Many thanks for your help!

I will return the brake lever guard and I will cancel the order for the clutch lever guard.

It’s basically plug and play on standard bars, measure the bolt pitch and thread, measure the width of the lever and add that measurement to the bolt and grab the longer bolt from a hardware shop.

The thread hole on the brake lever guard is way smaller than the thread size of the bars, so I would have to drill the lever guard and make it larger, something that I don’t want to do.

I will look for other brake and clutch lever guards.
