I bought 2007 hayabusa used with 1350 miles. sometimes it stops when coming to a stop light (I am using clutch properly). my idle was 1000. So i increased the idle. but now idle jumps between 1200 to 1500 (and that heats up the bike).  - is this normal?

I live in NY.

Nothing about cutting out is normal.

Do you know about the bike's service history?

If it's cutting out because of the idle "hunting", then you may have a vacuum leak, need the throttle bodies synchronized, or there may be a different underlying problem.

How about a little more info?

BTW, where in Queens are you located? I spent a few years of my childhood in Woodside.

1000rpms was too low and that's why the bike would stall out.

However the idle jumping around from 1200-1500 rpms is not normal. When was the last time the trottle was synched.

Also look at your clutch support on the front sprocket cover. Just pull the clutch in and out while looking at it. If you see the cover moving away from the side of the engine when you pull in than that may be your prob. also. It is easy to check. It could cause your bikes rpms to bounce around and even choke out. Just a quick check you might want to make. Good Luck bro!
