Bash and Hayabusa Bash

here we go again grown adults acting like little school girls, If you don't like it, don't go!

Well said Shawn, I am sorry to see some be a last bash. I had the best time I came to a bash and it was awesome to meet so many folks. I intend to keep coming so long as I'm welcome with my Beemer. It is totally about the busa, I have met some if the greatest folks that are and have become my family. Someone once told me that it's hard for me to ask for help because I am so independent, I have found it easiest with the org family to ask for that help and to learn from those folks willing to extend that help. I do agree the bash is about the freedom to enjoy everyone, everything, anything without a schedule and the communication once there is beyond awesome. I am sad that some of the original folks may not come back. You will know where I am at the least once a year. Hoping to meet new family and stay connected to ones I already have. Thank you and let's rock this thing y'all!!! PARTY!!!

Trust me, I understand where you're coming from...but read carefully..
I was there in the car on the way home from the last bash, when a conversation started mainly between RacerV and Loomis. SCAR WAS NOT PRESENT. They were saying how they were disappointed at the low number of people at the event. They were hoping to meet up with old friends and make some new ones. So they started thinking, how can we get more people to come like previous years?? And bam..the ideas took off like a busa. It was not until after, that this idea was brought up to Scar. He knows many riders and can help spread the word. He decided to be a sponsor so we took off with that idea wondering if we could get any more. No way did we think it was going to be this successful the first time. But that was a risk we were willing to make. We are not doing this to make a profit, to be honest, we will be paying out of pocket a few hundred. Because we want to bring old friendships back, start new ones and give people the opportunity to experience the mountains in a way that they haven't before.

Btw, people are still free to do whatever they want at the bash. We do not have a schedule. If they want to ride with a group when they go out, they can. They can eat when they'd like, listen to the music if they choose to or they can sit inside and play cards. We are simply giving options and a variety of things to enjoy for those who don't want to just sit around a fire all night...although for some, that may be all they need.

I haven't made it to a bash at all so not sure how much my opinion counts here. But the numbers aren't likely low do to interest. The biggest rally in the world was plagued with low attendance the last few years, that would be Sturgis. Let me tell you it's not due to lack of adverts or organizing. It has one main cause. Money, while our wonderfull wall street folks are doing well these days most of us are still trying to dig out. I have not gone to a bash strictly due to cash flow.

Also when a second group joins in an adverts theirs will be better due to structure some folks may balk. Not better just different.

Just my 2c

Now let's get back to a bash in the Rockies. For us poor westerners.

...we want to bring old friendships back, start new ones and give people the opportunity to experience the mountains in a way that they haven't before...

If that were truly the case, then why wasn't it brought up HERE, on the .oRg?!

My belief (and others) is that this all stemmed from a picture being removed from the .oRg from the Fall 2013 Bash. I was not the one who removed the pic so I cannot comment any further than that. Again, it is my belief that this is what prompted this "separation" from the .oRg and starting of a NEW event. The event started OUTSIDE of the .oRg and there was NEVER any discussion with the members here about it.

As was previously stated, the .oRg doesn't "own" the event; it is mainly a gathering of members...and friends, etc. My opinion is that if you truly wanted to "bring old friendships back" then you should have just taken the lead-role and organized it here, as it has always been done. The choice of a similar name and a date that were two weeks later is not a coincidence, in my opinion. That was done purposely.

Next, certain people were 'excluded' from the initial invite to the social media group. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and call it 'oversight'. However, later...and most recently - certain people have been REMOVED from your group. Why? Because they don't agree with everything you're doing? Seems odd that in one breath you're touting that everyone is welcome yet in another you're removing "dead weight".

Now, let's add to it that you have said things about "us" (mods/admins) that simply are not true. For example, it was said that Michelle was the one to change the date of the Spring 2013 Bash only to not show up. Again, refer back to what was stated before, WE do not own the Bash. Michelle did NOT change the date, the masses did; it was simply put back to the "original" weekend. As for why Michelle and I did not show - I don't think we owe you, or anyone, an explanation (just as I'm sure that you would not expect an explanation as to why someone cannot make it to your event). That is just one example of things that are being said about us...and more particularly, about Michelle. She's done nothing to deserve it...nor has anyone else.

So - if you're truly wanting to get things back to the way they were, I think you've gone about it all wrong. Again, my opinion - is that since you clearly wanted a different event, it should have taken a different name - not one that so closely resembled the event that was started many years ago and also - made the date significantly different than the one that is normally used for the Busa Bash. Two weeks later (or earlier) is not enough time....if one were to want to attend both events - they are likely too close together.

That's my :2cents:

I hope you and everyone have a safe, fun event...no matter which event one chooses to attend.

Lets be perfectly clear here and I suggest YOU READ CAREFULLY as I do not want there to be any misunderstanding of this point.

My statement was that Scar is involved in the event. It does not say that Scar had anything to do with organizing it or anything about timing. It is a matter of public record that he is a sponsor via ISHOC AND its public record that he and the administration here have a history, the recent aspects of it are all bad. I am friends with Scar, I like him, I've visited with him numerous times, hell I've gone out of my way to make sure I could hang out with him on trips around the country. This is not about me or him. This is purely a point in fact that I raised for anyone that cared to address it. Clearly there are differences in opinions on how this all came to be but on the point about ISHOC and Scar, that's the 800lb gorilla in the room IMHO. I wish everyone the best and I am delighted beyond words with how successful he has been in his pursuits in life but given the history, I felt it was worth at least spinning the flashlight on it. No one wants to talk about it but clearly its a point to give folks that know the history here reason to pause and say "hmm...". In my mind it was simply Scar seeing good friends trying to organize an event and simply added exposure to it for the benefit of the event, with no malice intended or wanted, of that I'm fairly certain. As I said in my previous post I would happily attend both events for the same reasons at both. To see friends and enjoy the time in that great area.

Here is my 2015 Spring bash will be at Ilse of Man TT races, with my bikes, all are welcome to come.

I am soo done with this stuff, there are comments said,, back and forth, and there is clearly no, fix for the issues either way.
All for stupid reasons, on each side.

I soo wish that it could be all worked out, but there are always something either way!

I respect everyone's opinion but truth is nobody knows all the facts to what really happened between certain members in different occasions. This is my last post because I hate repeating myself. The date was changed BEFORE any previous feuds were brought to the surface again. This WAS NOT meant to be a different event. I do not recall saying anything about Michelle or anyone for that matter. I have simply stated that I have met maybe one mod. Please don't confuse me with other people, I try not to talk negatively about ANYONE. I am not in charge of the FB group so I don't know who gets deleted or why but I'm guessing they probably started unwanted drama on our page. And if we tried to take the lead role on the Org do you think anyone would have given it a chance? I like this site, it has a lot of members, posts and good information. But correct me if I'm wrong, it doesn't allow advertising.

Ok I'm done. I really hope to meet some of you in a couple weeks, if not, enjoy your bash and please don't stop riding because people have different opinions.

-D

Now that we have mushed through that. I am sorry that I did not ask your Holiness's permission to change the date of the Hayabusa Bash. You were not actively involved anymore and obviously didn't give a damn about it. I knew that as soon as I decided to take ownership and DO something about it, you would not support it or even consider it. So why the hell even ask? As far as Scar, I don't even know exactly what happened between him and Doug but seriously, was it bad enough to hold a grudge for this freakin long? I used Scar to get fresh faces involved in a dying event. He is also nice enough to provide us with shirts and hoodies, etc to give away to people. So, why don't you all enlighten us on what the problem is here with Scar. I'm sure several of us would like to know. When I set the new date, Michelle immediately posted up her date. I admit I was just a little irritated by this and I did make a remark about people who set dates but don't show for them. You don't owe me an explanation and its perfectly fine that while all of the people who are at the event on the date that YOU wanted it to be, sitting in the rain, looking at pictures of almost all of the moderators enjoying beers in a tropical paradise, it pissed a few of us off. In fact, that is when the wheels started turning about a little re-organizing. Omar and Shawn enjoy working on other peoples bikes...that's great! But guys, while you are doing that, you kind of put a cold shoulder to people who have come to hang out and ride with you. If you love working on bikes so much, get a shop. Danielle has come here to try to appease the masses because she is a lot nicer than I am and you flippantly dismiss her and mock her to make your point. She doesn't deserve that. I removed people from facebook because either they had no intention of being a part of the group or were trying to undermine the work that we are trying to accomplish. Several of you left on your own prior to this. I just finished cleaning up. You didn't want anything to do with it anyway, why

ok, but can I ride the dragon bike? :) IOM would be most awesome for 2015 :)

Do you care? I will be here for a few minutes to field any issues or concerns with what I have said. I am a grown man, lay it all out. I want this animosity over with now.

While I am on a roll, why did you guys delete the post that Fireman put up about the bash? Where in the rules does it say that he can not post information about a motorcycle event? He didn't know that there were issues yet you imposed your will against him. Exactly what your mission statement says that you aren't supposed to do.

I hate that the Bash I was introduced to in 2008 is pretty much extinct. That was a very difficult year for Dan and me, but at the Spring Bash we met Don and VMan and TwoTone & Juli and MC and Omslaw and Vabs and Captain & Christie and Semi and GixerHP and Grumpy and so many others. The list got longer with every Bash we attended since. We've lost some of these friends and it breaks my heart to know that I won't see them again. But I love to spend time with all of the others. I love that we can get together with them to ride or just sit around and BS. One of the main drawbacks of our move to Vermont is that we won't see the Oklahoma Orgsters as often as we did before (which still wasn't often enough). But we're also closer to some others and have the opportunity to see them more than 1x year.

As tempting as it is to voice my opinion on this whole drama, I will not put that in writing. I know Dan and I will continue to participate in M&Gs as we can. We've made friends here that I hope will be lifelong.

Hopefully, by this summer no one will remember this bruhaha and we can get back to serious riding and laughing and having fun.

The only thing this whole bash thing did for me is made me lose respect for several people I used to respect. And for that I'm thoroughly upset.

I hope both bashes are safe.
