Were there any mishaps wrecks during the time you were there Jules?
A sidecar team and a Japanese rider at his first TT were killed in practice before we arrived on the Island ..

Bit of a downer ..But everyone carries on..

They all know the huge risks involved in road racing ..

But they also say thats the reason they do it..

The only down side to the I O M TT is when there is a wreck it's usually serious and sometimes messy.

This guy was awesome and is still raved about 3 years later : David Jefferies RIP

Very true Kent...

DJ was and still is loved by race fans world wide...

A true gentleman..He is missed..

While we were there two travelling marshals crashed on an oil spill..

One was seriously injured the other had minor injuries. Both will be ok..But it's a dangerous game with very little room for error..

Jules, do you take a ferry there? How were the crowds? ... Prices for rooms ... ? thanx - K

Awesome pics BigDR!! Thank you for sharing. I'm planning on ordering the 2005 Highlights DVD. Isle has to be the most insane, yet phenomenal races on this good earth. I'm suprised more riders don't die from this race as there are hardly any safety runoffs or gravel traps etc.

Ferry from Dublin to Douglas..Return to Belfast..No Dublin return sailing..

Crowds were a bit less than usual..It seems a lot of folk are saving for next years centenary TT which will be HUGE ..

Saw no trouble at all . Most everyone is half cut and having a ball .
Police are very laid back ..Just stand back and watch the wheelies and burnouts..

Several ways to get accomodation...
Hotels and bed&breakfasts will be booked out already for next year.

Which leaves camping in one of the many sites with tent supplied and full facilities.... Or..

The homestay scheme .. Which I used..
Which is basically staying in someones home..
The tourist board will email you a list..

And the prices are about £25 stg per person per night..

Worth every penny ..The family we stayed with were wonderful.

If you fancy going..Give me a holler..

The 2006 race dvd will be out shortly from Duke video.

Everyone is aware of the danger of this type of racing..

Gravel traps and runofFs.....NONE..

Little or no room for error....
