99 busa here with 98,000.........no 2nd gear problem.

Sold my '00 at 65k miles and zero issues with second gear. But I never abused it and the vast majority of that was sport-tour travel miles.

06 that just turned over 72,000 and never had any problems whatsoever, with anything. Always used Amsoil and I routinely shift w/o the clutch but seldom from 1st into 2nd.

49,000 miles and no second gear issues.... I use to use the clutch a lot... no so much anymore.

My ‘99 Gen 1 has no 2nd gear issues, use the clutch on upshifts about half the time, ALWAYS on downshifts.
Every now and then I hit a false neutral between higher gears, but usually due to lazy input pressure on gear lever.

12,000 never had a second gear problem
Had a couple 5-6 miss shifts under spray that got Sketchy
that winter pulled the gear box and had "Motor Head" do a NOS mod to the shift drum and under cut my gear box

Hosed me, Sent me a used gearbox(supposed to be exchange) and a shift drum that had some ramps modified,
Thru gearbox and drum in. Still using it today
Have a spare gearbox on my work desk that I am Procrastinating about leaning under cutting

I have a 2005, 103500 miles, always use the clutch, with some spirited riding from time to time. Have used Amsoil most of its life. No issues.

understanding ? i can´t.

i ask myself what those guys do 2 their busa .
