Do yourself a favor Russell and go buy the 35mm 1.8 lens. You'll fall in love with that lens and it's pretty cheap!!! Awesome lens!

Yeah prime lenses are pretty stellar for quality and that lens actually isn't that expensive. As I get more into photography I will begin to add to my collection I am sure. I have a nice size bag to fill
