06 motor in 01 bike???

I was also wondering if any of you know can I directly swap an o6 motor to an 01 with the 01 harness and computer.

Not a direct swap...
The Rotor and maybe the pickup.
There is also a possibility of the injectors/harness but I don't remember if they chnaged in 01or 02.

The ECU is a 16 bit on the 99-01 models. This changed the rotor/pick up requirements when the ECU was updated to 32 bit in 02.
If you are making the swap, you should have everything you need regardless.

Yeah just wondering if I need to pull the comp and harness when I harvest the motor. If the 02+ comp was better why did the bike get slower. Just going by sport riders hard numbers the busa lost 2 tenths from 99 to 04???????

The pick up wires need to be swapped, the are reversed on the older models!

i think 01 is the first year you dont have to swap the pickup polarity
