I was watching another one (maybe more recent) where the trooper is reading information in every vehicle in the oncoming lane on the interstate. Very fast camera's in use~!~

They are being used in limited numbers in SoFla.
They drive thru parking lots and the thing just scans plates while officer consumes twinkie or his usual favorite....
