    Help! touring a Busa tips...

Here's my "Full Dresser Busa": Only mods: Foamy grips. The bags aren't really a mod... well, anyway... they're Nelson-Rigg. Just got back from our vacation. Michigan -> NC -> Deal's Gap -> Michigan Week and a half total away from the house. Wifey takes some stuff on her Harley in her...

OK, how wheelie-happy is it, really?

Cool. So after the holeshot, on a stock bike, it will rise a little (6"-12"?) - but you can stay in it and just let it come down on the shifts, correct? No constant feathering like on a 1k.

OK, how wheelie-happy is it, really?

Look... I'm going to explain this slowly to you because you're about as smart as a box of hammers... I am not asking if the bike can be provoked into coming up. Any bike can. Had you been riding longer than it takes milk to go sour, you would have caught that. But you haven't, so hope ya live...

    Mode Selector switch

Two weeks... I'm outta this one. At this point I can't think of anything to say that wouldn't be construed as an outright flame.

    Mode Selector switch

Sorry. This is NOT the machine for a beginner. You may survive the experience intact, and I honestly hope you do, but your choice was not wise.

Just tuned an 08 Busa with Dual HMF Pipes Full

Boss, do you have the "before" run for it also?

OK, how wheelie-happy is it, really?

Turned over 600 miles this morning, and still haven't hammered it - I'm following the break-in per the manual... shifted at 8000 rpm for the first time this morning as a matter of fact... well, apart from the dyno run, that is... Anyway, my '04 was basically dead stock, and never really lifted...

Well, a good reputation is more valuable than gold, and it is good that you value it so highly. That being said... I'm an engineer, and I'll bet there are a few others like me out there, meaning that hard numbers are going to be what we're looking for. Without the baseline, I can't tell what...

Prolly much better to do so. There are a lot of little factors that can move a dyno number around a whole bunch. In truth, your best selling point to folks with experience modding vehicles is going to be the delta off a baseline power number - any time a big number just shows up that is...

I'd like to see the "before" run - i.e. with the bike unmodified. Clip the A/F information off it if you'd like, but the point would be to understand what the result was against the baseline of the bike stock (or maybe just with the air filter).

    2008 Dyno results...

Was run at STD. Temp was 73.03 degrees with 29.29 in of Hg and 22% humidity, so there isn't going to be a whole lot of movement there. Correction factor was 1.02. No wideband installed. Again, wasn't a tuning exercise - just a dyno day. Hold everything as close to constant as possible, run...

    2008 Dyno results...

Well, a couple of points from my previous experiences with dynos: First, dynos are only really good at measuring before and after. The information is not transferrable from dyno to dyno. There's a lot of reasons for this, but among them: 1) Dynojet claims that calibration is not required due...

    2008 Dyno results...

The story: My wife owns and rides a HD, so we are in the habit of stopping by every HD dealer we come across and buying her a shirt.  Just kind of a thing we do. Well, lo and behold, it's DYNO DAY at the HD dealer we stop at on Saturday!  The gents there are super-cool and strap up my Busa and...

I know, I know... Wifey and I are going on a ride this weekend up to northern Michigan. I'll get some pics pronto. Oy vey, this is a tough crowd!

    New and Blue!

The '04 in my sig is no longer mine... Replaced with a new and very blue '08 last night! I am well pleased! 43 degree weather last night in Michigan, but I put 100 miles on her anyway. She's a peach! While I am following the break-in procedure in the manual, it's obvious that there's...
