Go with either a 16t front sprocket OR a 42r sprocket, same final drive ratio. 2nd gear around 6 grand, you can load the front end (rock it) and hit it hard she'll float up easy. Then ride her out... you can go through all the gears if you have the balls...

Sounds like you are in way over your head with the technical info... If you have race slips ons you need to richen up your idle circuit. I have the RS3 Race slip ons and had the exact same stumble. Using the Yosh box I adjusted the idle circuit setting to 10 o'clock (richer) and it is perfect...

Pete, OMEGA is right.. use a dremel and cut off that "ring" that holds on the throttle grip.... then glue on some new ones.. well worth the effort... I have changed them on previous suzuki's, just have to get off my azz and change the ones on the busa.. too thin!

If all this tensioner nonsence is true on the '00's, would it show up right away? Or could it fail way down the road? I have 9000k's on mine and no noises yet... ????

If your chain tension is set properly then the only thing I can think of it the famous "5000rpm noise" that everyone and their dog has mentioned.. It comes and goes so quick.. Don't worry about it.. She is pretty powerful to bring up in first, maybe try bringing it up in second and right it...
