dont know about your state, but in cali the law is not very specific. it only states it has to be mounted at the rear most portion of the vehicle...im a copper too, but it sounds like this guy had a nut on for you. like everyone else said, look it up and take it to court.

not to be negative...but i think the copper was too trusting. if you had no plate and the vin really did not return anything, he should have been worried. it all worked out, but if thats my stolen bike that someone took the plates off, id want the cop to do a little investigating and make sure...

all motor officers ride their bikes home, and are known to make traffic stops on the way.  this does not make them wrong, if you are off your shift...and you happen to stop anyone with enough witts to think so....then  a lawer would have a fun time with you. and before this turns to lawer...

i just put on the sylvania silver stars, and it was the best 40 bucks ive spent on the busa. night riding is acutally fun now (i ride home from work every night at 1 am. also, adjusting the light helped a bunch...go with the silver stars

yeah, i just did it..... ive done it on an r1 though, so the busa felt like a rolls royce...i did the 2000 in 48 hrs. just take a camelback and ride....

on my 4th arai, this one an rx-7. would not wear anything else. very comfortable, but kinda noisy because of all the vents. if youre looking for a quiet helmet, get something else...but comfort, you wont find anything better.
