Apologies, can you point me to the thread?

No worries! I personally would try the search function, you might even have luck just going to past pages in the new posts section. I'll look myself for ya

trust me the zx-10r is no joke i own an 06 zx10 and my buddy owns an 07 busa, completely stock first gear roll on to 4th i never see him, i mean several bike lengths ahead.

I don't really consider these cycle world results as winning. The busa is the fastest bike on the board in the 1/4 mile. Tell me what race values the 0-180mph time? So what, it a long stretch, the ZX-10 might crawl by the busa in the very end. Any other race, the busa will win.

my 10 pulls hard on the busa from first gear through 4th gear. power to weight ration, the 10 puts out about the same hp as the busa but weights alot less

Different magazines,different results..
amcn had them 08 1 litre bikes dynoed and the results were gsxr 1st by almost 10 hp, whereas cycle got more hp out of the zx10. Anyway my 08 hayabusa pulled my friends 2005 zx 10 by 7-8 bikelenghts from 60-120 both stock.
the new zx 10 has got more hp up top than the >2007 zx10 but less in the midrange & bottom

Does anyone REALLY care? To me it's pretty academic, all these bikes are bloody fast and will put a big smile on your dial.

+1 well said, however people obviously do care otherwise they would'nt take the time do these tests! I hear people all the time stating what their bike can do based on what they read in the latest magazine.
excellent point! "My bike can go 0-180 in 10 seconds, of course I don't have the balz to take it over 100mph" lol

Rather flattering to have my "Sport Touring" machine compared to a "purpose built" track machine... cool beans!

I raced an 08 10R a few weeks ago, and no matter how we raced, he lost. We rode together for about 200 miles that day riding all kinds of roads, and at the end of the day, he wished he had bought the Busa instead of the 10R.

Lets be real. Any modern sport bike is amazing, no matter what the displacement.

The 10R is no joke. The new Busa is no joke either.
