Zeus Helmets?

I'm looking at a full face Zeus helmet. It fits good, looks good, and has a double shield & tinted visor option. But it only has DOT certification.

I currently run a CL-14 HJC that carries both certifications.

What is your opinion on Zeus helmets, and Snell certification.

Blue one.

Sorry but I've never heard of the Zues line. I'm not sure I would trust any helmet that doesn't have the Snell aproval. It's always best to protect your head with the best out there.

Some people have criticised Snell standards as being a tad excessive. Motorcyclist magazine did a big article on it a while back. I don't think "excessive safety" is something I mind when it comes to what's protecting my head; but there was also a question of whether softer material that would fail to meet Snell standards would actually transfer less G-force to the head.

This rebuttal by Snell is worth a read:

Ya, I agree. I'm going to purchase something with a Snell rating. My CL14 has one now, and 2yrs wear for $80/yr is cheap.

Looking at HJC, Shoei, and Aria helmets now.
