True, it isn't as green as people make them out to be given that about 65% of electricity produced comes from clean sources like natural-gas/hydro/nuclear, etc. My motivation is they're cleaner (I can heat/cool my car without having to open my garage door), and very little maintenance is required. I would like to own a vehicle that doesn't need oil changes, spark plugs, filters, exhaust systems, and finicky engine-management electronics that sometimes act up. Also don't want to give my money to the state for emissions testing when my car already meets federal-emission standards.

We can barely keep up with our hydro needs when the air conditioners kick in during the heat of the summer. I can't wait until a few million people plug in their electric cars every night
we will be going from brown outs to black outs virtually over night
