Xpel - Clear Paint protection for the 08

First off I would like to say I am in no means associated with Xpel, only that we install their products at our shop.

Today I got to thinking with one of our installers about doing a clear bra paint protection kit for the 08.. Normally XPEL doesn't do much for the motorcycle market, but I figured I'd give it a shot.. So I looked it up, and sure as hell there was a kit ONLY for the 08 Hayabusa under Suzuki. Sweet!! So we downloaded the format from our dealer machine and cut the kit.. It came out awesome, but, I have to say that our installer was motherf*cking me the entire time.. The front of the bike, with all the angles and such was a real pain to do.. In saying that, I wouldn't suggest that somebody install this kit without knowing what they are getting into, as it is very difficult to do. On a side note, the clear bra is very easy to take care of, and can be waxed just like the paint itself, so maintenance is easy.

On to the pics.. Xpel offers several pieces for the Busa, including Fender, tank, fairings, and some additional side pieces. We did the whole kit. We install this paint protection on several high dollar vehicles including Porsche, Audi, Ferrari and several others.. What's good for those cars, has got to me good for our bikes! I had to take the pics while it was getting installed, because there is no way you can see once it's installed...

Here is a link to the product, list price is crazy, go to a dealer near you and I'm sure they can take at least 50% off that..

You can buy the 3M adhesive backed material like these kits are made from and cut them yourself. I see that Expel sells it bulk! Just buy enough to do you rearsets and your good to go.

The stuff is great but that price is laughable...

You can get the 3M and several others for less than a third of that. $590 is a joke...

thanks guys....id prefer to powdercoat them but i cant find a specialist here in Greece
after long trips the lube from the chain gets them dirty :-(

john74 they sell some rearset and passenger peg bracket covers on the suzuki website in chrome silver carbon or dark carbon

like I said, the list price is crazy.. Nobody charges list price, except for high end dealers.. This kit cost me $50 to do, but, we are a direct dealer for them..

Aside from that, the 3M stuff doesn't stand a chance next to the Xpel film.. We install both, and I would never put the 3M film on anything I own, not because of lack of protection, but because of the look... The XPEL stuff is way clearer, and unless I point it out, you would never know it was installed on the bike.
