Won't rev past 7K under WOT?

Bike is being weird again. Bike is an 05 with 21K miles. Bike starts up and runs fine and I can drive it around normally. But when I go WOT and get to 7K rpm's or just rev it WOT while in neutral the bike hit's 7K and sits there like it has a damn 2-step on it? But if I just ease into the throttle it will go to redline, but not under WOT!

Read a lot of it stuff that it could be a fuel pump issue, What do you guys think before I start buying parts for trial and error?

That's what I was thinking guys. I pulled the fuel line off the bike from the fuel rail and turned the key on. The fuel just dribbled out piss pore. On my 07 R6, I pulled the line off and it sprayed out about 10 feet or so with a lot of pressure!

So I went online to get a cheap fix for now, got a pump off an 04 for $130. If it works Great!!! And hope it will last a while, til it dies. A new one from the dealer is around $800, and I don't have that laying around now.. lol Wish me luck!!

Thank Guys, Geoff

Well, Well, Well, Where to start?

First off I got the bike running perfect, It was indeed the fuel pump!

Here is the sad part, I got it running and was giving it a test ride on Thanksgiving day around 11:00 am up to my girlfriends store to get some good gas in it. While on the way to the store, which is a mile away from the house, I decided to get on it in first gear from about 35-40 mph. I went WOT, front wheel came straight up into a wheelie, rode the wheelie while shifting into 2nd gear it miss shifted and went into neutral. The front wheel came done in the process, I then shifted into 2nd gear and gave it WOT again.... At this point the bike did a massive head shake (tank slapper). By this time I'm close to 100 mph. And I lost it on the bike, Bike through me off onto the highway were I slid about 100-150 feet or so.

I didn't break any bones just a lot of road rash. Now I am waiting to get better where I can start taking the bike apart to see what damage is done and to see what it's going to cost me to get it fixed. Things I know that need to be replaced is the rear wheel, all fairing, rear sub-frame where the seats mount, exhaust, passenger peg, radiator overflow. And it was leaking oil, so I got to find out what cracked, thinking the clutch cover.

Other than that I had God looking over me that day and have a lot to be Thankful for this past Thanksgiving!

Bummer man! From the look of you in last picture with gown on and arm wrapped I'm guessing you didn't have your gear on?
Heal up quick and get back at it.

Wow, you should have held off buying that fuel pump! Oh and I would suggest in a kind way that you learn THROTTLE CONTROL!

Yeah, I had no gear on just my helmet, like i said just going 1 mile up the road is all it took. I will be wearing my gear from now on though..lol

And after 12 years of riding and racing bikes, there is always a 1st for every thing! I had always said it's not if I go down it's when i go down.

I've had 3 tank slapper on 3 different bikes, on my old Honda Super Hawk 996 just rough road, my 07 R6 coming down off a 3rd gear stand up wheelie, and now the Busa, and this one got me, 3 strikes and I was out I guess.. lol

Wwoowwww!!!! That just sucks!!!! Hope you can get it fixed up and back on the road soon.!!!!!

Glad to see your in one peice. I guess I should hold off in getting the fuel pump for my 04. Heal up and get that busa ready for spring.
