Will a gen 2 lowering triple tree fit a gen 1? (searched)

I searched and searched and cant find a clear answer. Will a lowering triple tree for a gen 2 fit a gen 1 without any issues? Thanks

I'm pretty sure it just doesn't fit.

if at all, only the entire steering head together - the steering head bearings are the same. at gen1 aund gen2

the dimensions from fork leg to fork leg and from fork leg to central nut differ from gen1 to gen2
and I know THAT for sure.
