wide range transmission?

Has anyone installed a wide range trans?
If so how do you like it?
How much difference has it made with your lower and high gears?

Yes my bike is stock.
i could have sworn a few months ago the offered gears for shorter 1 and 2 and taller 5 and 6

The sweet spot for a Gen I was 4K. At 4K you would get 50 MPG, a little below it or a little above it and it changed. Going taller will make the bike feel sluggish, going shorter will make it more aggressive, but will shorten your top end.

I've seen this used in racing, for and everyday rider I would suggest changing sprockets. It's a heck of a lot cheaper and easier to correct / change.
