Why is the exhaust popping?

It could be a exh leak.

I tried every available map there is and they all had the same results.

I took it as unburnt exh gas built up in the pipe.

I wasn't for sure if the pair was holding extra unburnt exh since it was still on there but not working.

Maybe the PAIR is still working! All I know is my popping on deceleration went away after I completely removed the PAIR.

hey mambo Kid, you might have something....

I dont know how the internals of the pair look, but if some exhaust gas went down one cylinder tube, and then into another............. because the intake was blocked off, so it was using only available route.......hhmmmmmmm interesting concept, will have to look in manual to see workings of PAIR

Frank,

Pair's function is to inject fresh air from airbox into the exhaust, thus diluting the exhaust hydrocarbons. As we know, when running a pipe on our Busa's, injecting this fresh air causes exhaust backfires upon deceleration. An exhaust leak @ spigots, will result in same the popping result.

I should know how to fix this but I guess I forgot?!!

I ran across a Busa with the flapper removed, Yosh Pipe, and a PC2.

I tried several maps, map combonations, and plugged the pair valve from the airbox.

No luck!

It pops and shoots a small flame from 3,500 rpm and below on deaceleration ONLY.
The pipe still has all the packing.

I'M LOST.

What am I forgeting???

Thanks!
