There are 2 jammers that I know actually work, blinder 25 & Escort ZR4,Blinder comes with 2 heads,ZR4 comes with 3,my quesstion is this;where do you put the front head???under the front nose piece seems to be the only place, there's room for one head (I don't think you can fit 2 if you go with the ZR4)...but even if you put one,the fender will hit head(there's less then 4" between fender and lower tree when you sit on bike)..and there's at least 3" of travel on forks!..any suggestions???or better yet, pics of install???THX

I have often wondered about doing a custom install. Maybe INSIDE the headlight, like the Angel Eyes mod.
That, and mounting the radar/laser detectors on each mirror as well as on the hump in back It would give better coverage from all sides as well as catching the laser scatter from close calls. You know that the laser detector is just a ticket notification device. Without the jammer on it just lets you know that you've been GOT.

RLBowers, angel eye mod???,not familiar with that...all I know is I can't see installing head below the cowl without it hitting fender, and I believe the head has to have nothing in front of it,unlike radar detectors....your location say's
Mosul,Iraq???...you in the military???

I've always seen them mounted on the bottom of the nose, under the headlight. The LED pods aren't that big (one's I've seen are only 1/2" thick), and there's more than enough room there.

Under the nose even used the black plastic factory rivets to hold the bracket in place. This makes removal a snap...

KS,you use the blinder 25 correct?how thick is it with the mount?do you have any issue's with the fender hitting it?is your front fork's set at factory settings(compression/rebound/spring tension)&,I really hate to ask you this:laugh:your weight???P.S. any pics???

DR.
Why, Yes. I am in the military. Look for my posts in Random and you can see lots of pics from here.

There are always options...

Jay,now thats a clean, proffesional install!...esp. the back!...you use the blinder25 or the ZR4/3??...also the jammer head in front...doesn't it have to be out in the open?...wouldn't the windscreen have an effect on the ability of the jammer to work properly??? ED

Blinder.

When I did it, the general consensus was that as long as it's clear, it won't really effect it.

Heck, the blinder box itself has a tinted plastic piece in front of it. If that can be tinted, I see no reason why a clear plastic in front of it would do anything negative.

I had the laser jamer installed on my 05. The reciever was very thin, just over half an inch thick. I mounted it under the nose cowling and quickly found their wasn't enough clearance and the fender ended up pretty scuffed up but not broken.

If you chose to mount your receiver under the nose cowling, this is what I would suggest. Put your busa up on the jack stands both front and rear. Use a hydraulic floor jack along with a block of wood against the header pipes to take the load off. Remove the top tripple tree cover and loosen tht top fork clamps. Gently unscrew the fork caps on both sides. Then, very slowly lower the floor jack that is supporting the bike on the headers until the forks bottom out. Then you can measure the exact amount of clearance available to mount your receiver. I think you'll find there is very little room between the fender and nose cowl when the forks are bottomed out.

Jay&Tuff,it seems that there isn't any clearance, and fender will hit( I run 3 clicks soft on the rebound and compression)...don't need that worry!...I would mount it where Jay's mounted (behind windscreen)but transmission
going through windscreen???...must kill the range somewhat???...don't forget lasar jammer's transmit to the LEO's gun,any experts on the forum, about
mounting lasar jammer head,BEHIND a windscreen???chime in...THX ED

carful here gents...as i understand it?...

Detectors = "Recieves A Signal" (nearly "legal in most states")

Jammers = "TRANSMITS A SIGNAL" (in other words..A FEDERAL OFFENSE in most states)

Ask your local trucker...they were the first to use "JAMMERS"....years ago...and the first ones were rigged up "transponders" (front and rear) cannibalized from hummingbird fish finders.

all i know and?...ya won't catch me using one cause.."Club Fed" ain't for me.

Radar detectors are legal all states except Virginia, Washington DC. and on military bases. Radar detectors are illegal in all commercial vehicles weighing over 10,000 pounds

Laser Jammers are illegal in the states of Nebraska, Minnesota, Utah, California, Oklahoma, Virginia, Colorado, Illinois and Washington DC.

In areas that radar detectors are illegal, law enforcement use a device called the Spectre that is able to detect the use of radar detector in your car or truck.
