I rode 2 today:D:D, the first gen got a little test drive after repairing thr clutch catastrophe then spent a few hours on my gen 2. While I know partly because the poor gen 1 has been so neglected but Iwas amazed at just how different the 2 felt and not just power wise more of an aggressive position. Of course I don't really remember hote mime felt stock. Still both a joy to ride and I believe I could see a first gen in my garage in the future:thumbsup:

Yes, I have ridden both also, and they are markedly different to ride.
My 99 Gen 1 is like an old pair of slippers that are so comfy, ya just don't wanna get the new slippers!
But I've only had short rides on the Gen 2 Busas I've had the opportunity to try out, don't get me wrong, I really want the extra power and the radial brakes, but my ol' 99 has been so good to me over the 5 years and 50,000kms I have owned it, I feel a debt of gratitude towards the ol' girl.
It's a tough one . . . I'll have to be decisive at some point, I know that much . .

My cousin has an 02 gixxer 600 and I took it to him and had him sit on it and we were both in agreement that they both have the same aggressive position, of course I really don't remember what mine felt like stock and this one has been so neglected and abused I don't think it even had oil left in the forks so I couldn't compare much and with the shot tires and the cold coming in here I couldn't open it up much but I did find I like it very much. Im thinking I definitely want to add one to my garage in the future maybe setup as my dedicated twisties bike.

Aaahhhh, ya shoulda been there. :firing: 278 mile loop from my house thru the Sequoia Park and National forest and the Kings Canyon NP. Same route I took on the Z a few days back but this time the other way round. Man, those dozen(s) of switchbacks are killer! 1st gear, 10 or 15 mph but up is better than down. See the people on the downed old growth Sequoia? Big huh? The Busa ain’t small either but it’s dwarfed by the big ones. See the shiny Kanji in the sun? Just a reminder, most systems allow for making these pics full screen.

Can always count on you to get some amazing pics

I'd love to visit the Sequoia National Park one day.

As for me, I havent been on the bike in a couple of weeks. Been working and havent had the opportunity to ride.

Winter’s coming and some of these roads will close in a few weeks. The highest on this route is just above 7,000’ but the snow line is nearer to 5. Yosemite is similar as the entrance is already above 5,000’. After it snows they do plow some roads though so I’ll put on my winter gear and see what I can see, I cross the Sierras right after the passes open and above 7-9k’ the snow lined roads are beautiful. But, even in winter the roads around the foothills are almost always open.
