Well I'll tell you!
Just want to give credit to Frank Davis and Jay at Powerhouse Motorcycle in Long Island, NY. I have been speaking with Frank over phone & email the last few months regarding some potential problems with my 03. Frank always took my phone calls even if he was busy and always responded to my emails right away. He helped me out with troubleshooting some things on the bike without even meeting me or getting one dime out of it. I also spoke to him regarding a Stage 1 RCC turbo and wanted to get a compression/leakdown test just to make sure the motor was in good condition and the bike was ready for it. Yesterday I drove up a few hours to him from South NJ to get the bike looked at. Once you walk into the place you know right away this is the real deal and not someone working out of there own garage. They have a glass enclosure with so many Busa toys that I am glad that I don’t live near him or I would go broke. The customer area is super clean and organized which of course will tell us something about how these guys work.
So, we did the compression/leakdown test and everything came out great! Def. made me feel better. I didn’t want to go home without any real changes to the bike (or course
so I had them throw the Brock’s adjustable links on. Jay, his head mechanic did a great job and they both let me go in the shop to see the height before everything was patched up. Frank also let me hear one of the other turbo bikes so I can see how the dump pipes sound which to me is better than the turbo itself!! Hah. They tighten everything up and pull the bike around – Frank said that he adjusted my throttle so it didn’t have the free play in it anymore. (Love the detail!). So as I am pulling away with the bike I realized I forgot to ask them if they could replace a plastic clip that fell out a few weeks ago on top of the front fender but as I looked down I see it is there!! I had to do a double take and was very happy to see they replaced it own their own. I used to work for one of the top Ford Performance shops in the world so I knew that this place actually took pride in their work. Because of all this Frank and Jay WILL be getting my business to install the turbo. The bottom line is that anyone in the NYC area or anywhere else for that matter should go to these guys. I am very anal about anyone touching my stuff but I will never think twice about dropping my baby off to these guys. When you go there don’t ever worry about any pushy sales tactics or rush jobs. They will be the only ones to ever touch the bike! I will keep everyone updated on how the turbo install goes in a few months.
