What's stock about pro-stock motorcycle dragsters?

I was watching ESPN Sunday night and saw several drag bike races.
I was curious, what about them is "stock" to do a 1/4 mile in
under 7 seconds. How much horsepower do they make, and what equipment is necessary to accelerate so quickly?

They make around 400 horses. Chassis setup is the key to the low e.t. Big motors provide the mph. 160 (2600 cc) inch displacement on the twins, 101(1655cc) on the fours.

It helps when you can run a non-production Vtwin engine because your manufacturer sponsors the class and you get special treatment.
Are you saying that Suzuki is not permitted to run special production engines?

Suzuki teams are VERY limited to what they can do,and use their own factory engines, parts, etc. The Harleys & Buells can do about anything they want. They use engines made by Porche. So don't think for one minute that you are actually seeing a Hardley Abelson beating a Zuke when they win. It's a joke, the only thing Harley on those bikes are the name labels.

thats funny the last black and grey i seen at the track flipped over backwards...
