Here is a thread dedicated to what we like about our Hayabusas...In this day and age where the Hayabusa is being regaled into the history books, here we are still living with them in our lives-some have moved on chasing the street dominance dream while others are just starting out on Hayabusa ownership...

I like my Hayabusa because it is unique, it is the only on in existence with this particular color scheme.

It's:
-comfortable,
-mine
-fast (enough for me),
-stable,
-reliable,
-paid for,
-easy to work on (kind of),

More comfortable for me than a liter bike
More comfortable for the wife that likes to ride with me
Stable And I like the weight and size
Does not have to be revved to the moon which lends itself to good highway cruising manners and rpm
I actually like the old school sweeping speedometer
It has a shift light and gear indicator
It’s basically old school tech with fuel injection
Relatively simple to work on
Reliable
Very docile at lower rpms but a hell raiser from 7000rpm to redline
Gets decent mpg when desired
The rear grab bar is handy for passengers or moving the bike around or putting on the rear stand etc
Aftermarket support galore
Can be molded into a variety of uses drag, touring, show, back road scratcher etc...

Legend will have it that speed was the Hayabusa's legacy. But I think what has made it so sustainable on the streets of the world is that it is a magnificent canvas. It can be what you want it to be. And the aftermarket parts bin is deep with seriously well engineered options that rival OEM parts.

For me the love affair has been with the engine and the stable handling characteristics. While my engine is still amazing and stock, the handling including braking, are on a much higher level than the OEM setup. All in all a timeless design that is still as thrilling to ride as it was 11 years ago.

Too many to list really, so just my experience.

Ridden over 67,000 miles in 14 years thru 11 western states in all weathers.

Able to be ridden across Nevada @ a buck forty+ all damn day.

Able to be ridden from sea level to over 11,000’ even over really twisty roads.

Criss crossed the Rockies and every Sierra Nevada mountain pass.

Stopped by rangers @ 11,000’ climbing Pike’s Peak due to icy corners.

Conquered the entire western coast highway from Mexico to (almost) Canada.

Motor, trans and clutch are original and untouched other than valve checks.

Other than fork seals the only expenses incurred have been routine maintenance.

Touring mileage is 40+, typical mileage is in the mid 30s.

Stable @ 180+ yet able to putt around @ walking speed.

Never stranded me, never let me down.
