What The Hell Is This In The Airbox ???

Opened up the air box and found this. It appears to be connected somewhere towards the back of the bike and is grounded to the engine. The unit is just jammed behind the throttle tubes.

Anyone any idea what the hell it is ?

One more thing ... Can I just cut the wires off, or do I have to take the loom apart and remove it at source ?

remove properly. If you cut the wires you may short something. Also may wanna check before removal may disable bike!

OK, we now know what it is but the question of why it is there still remains. Are these being put in at the factory or is this something a previous owner put in?

You have to remember rivercop UK does not have the same model we get here in the states. I think they also have security chips in the key over there.
