What size is the rear axle nut on a Gen2?

I need to go out and get a socket so I can use my torque wrench to tighten it, is the rear axle nut 36mm?

yes it is the 36mm, but don't cheap out on the socket and get a good brand like SnapOn, Craftsman Pro Series. Some cheap 36mm out there are more like 36.3mm or the steel to make the part is crap which may cost you more when you round the edges of the nut.

well, I grabbed a Craftsman 36mm socket.. backed the "hand tightened" nut off just a tad, set my torque wrench to 72.5 and re-tightened. When done it was pretty darn close to where I had it hand tightened. My hand tightening was off by a few Lbs at most
