Rush said "I hope he fails". Of couse Rush has been attacked from the left for this. When listening to his radio program a couple days ago I heard him explain how our Constitutional government works.
The framers designed it, with a system of checks and balances, so that no branch or individual could ever have absolute power.
When an administratrion, like the present one, is making a big power grab, and trying to change to socialism, the framers designed our Constitution so that their grab for power would fail.
That is the context Rush was coming from. He hopes anti=capitalism and socialism will fail.

If you liberals didn't have your heads so far up Obama's butt, you might realize that on occasion Rush makes some very valid points. But he doesn't agree with what our current administration is trying to do to the county so he must be a drugged out whack-job. We had better ban him from the radio before more people are influenced by the dark side.. :poke:

From that context (never thought of it that way) I retract what I said to 99 busa in another thread, I also now hope he fails, in everything. I hope nothing he does succeeds. I hope he fails so miserably that his own party impeaches him.

We are in for a long miserable road
 
He did say this and probably believed it until it applied to him.....

Let me ask you Obama supporters two things, so I know where you stand and please be honest


1) To you believe in socialism? do you feel our country would be better off if were were soclialist.


I ask the first question because I am trying to detemine if you dont believe he is trying to turn this country into a socliast country, or if you do know it, you support it 100%

I think a lot of the conservitives on the board feel Obama supporters are just blind and dont see it, I am starting to feel maybe the Obama supporters on this board know he is a socialist and feel that is where this country needs to head. There is no sense in trying to open the eyes of someone who is already seeing cleerly in their own mind.

And if this is the case the arguments should not be about the president, it should be about what is best for this country, socialism or capitalism



2) Second question is, if you dont believe he is a soclialist, and you dont believe he is trying to turn our country into a soclialist state, then at what point will you realize he is? I mean what will it take for you at some point to be convinced he is trying to turn the country into socialism?

but do i think some of it could be good ? YES
Do i think we need universal health care ... YES
Should something be done about the greedy banks and credit card company's ...YES
Why do you think he is trying to turn it into a social state, personally I think your paranoid.

In order to answer your question I need to know: What do you see as being the things that one must believe in to "believe in Socialism"?


But If you are asking if I believe in: A broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating public or state ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and a society characterized by equality for all individuals, with a fair or egalitarian method of compensation.

The answer would be yes I believe this would be a very positive socio-economic system.

SS, maybe you should look to the north to see what how that theory works in practice. Socialized medicine results in rationing and lower levels of health care. Having spent time in Canada and having had relatives who have lied in Canada, I can make the comparison from experience, not from theory and text books. You really want the Government holding the mortgage on your house? The Government determining your income?

You are either straight out of college and have no real world experience, or a life long Union worker accustomed to someone else making all of their decisions for them.
