What RPM is safe with a Busa in a race car?

Hello my friend has a Busa powered race car. It is a STD Busa with a dry sump setup but Std internals.
What do you think is a reliable RPM to use.
Cheers
Michael

Is he wanting to increase the redline? You can run a stock Busa Motor near the factory rev limiter all day. This motor has 70,000+ miles on it has never been apart.

He dropped a valve at 11000 rpm in top gear!!
They have removed the factory rev limit

Did he have a data logger that said 11,000~?~

Keep in mind also that the factory RPM guage is going to be off a bit, I'm thinking top end reads about 600rpms off.

I would imagine he has an aftermarket guage of some sort in the car...was it ever calibrated against anything else~?~

I just read the part about the dry sump set up...missed that before.

My guess is that might throw another curve ball in there...

Yes they were data logging so it should be good!

I've had mine set at 10800 softcut for the last three seasons, you can raise it by 500 but it's extra stress thats not really needed.
