can anyone tell me what connector this is and what it is for? My bike is a Canadian model 2001. It is not connected to anything. Any thoughts??

the connector is located on the left side by the frankenstien bolt. between the trunk tray and the plastic. i am trying to get the pics a correct size

it isn't plugged into anything. that's what I am wondering... if it should be plugged in.

I would also ask about a obd type plug in (dealer mode). But if all is running well either way your bike doesnt seem to mind.

yeah, runs fine. I was just fishing around for a switched lead to tap into for the GiPro and found the elusive connector. I couldn't find anything in the manual so I figured I'd ask.

Most likely TwoTone is right and it's the diagnostic plug. If it is what it would be plugged into is a diagnostic machine or computer used to identify problems.
Normally it just sits in there.

thanks guys, I thought so too. it was just weird seeing something unplugged on a bike with so much electronics it was a WTF moment for me
