I was actually a member around 2007-2010 era when I had both a 2004 and a “new” 2008 blue/gold busa. Sold both in 2010 and eventually stopped coming here. Purchased this one last month to replace my fav that I sold all those years ago.

I ripped the alarm out of my '05 tonight. I have no idea if it worked, but if it did I didn't trust that it would work forever... and since I didn't install it, I trusted it even less. Bonus, lost several pounds off of the subframe in the process. Win!

While waiting for summer to arrive, or at least the rain stop, pulled it down for a once over and a pre riding season safety check.
Everything checked to torque specs, removed, cleaned, cut, polished, waxed and a protection coat. Got it back together after work tonight..

Hurry up warmer weather... Sigh...

A small but needed mod. My ALIF lowering kit bars are notched and pinned in such a way that the left control housing is rotated down to the point where you can't even see the horn button [first pic]
I could have ground off the locating pin but I figured Zook put it there for a reason, so instead I measured and drilled a new dimple hole in the bar [second pic] (ignore the small scratch )
On reassembly, that looks, feels, and works much better [third pic]
As Delboy would say... There, job done
