Today was warm and a bit windy but got out there anyway, 200kms return journey on some of my favourite roads.
Here's a few pics to wet your appetite and make you jealous lol

This is at the Tai Tapu cafe, waiting to meet my buddy on his GSXR1100J

This is Ned, an Englishman fro Knottinghamshire near Sherwood Forest in the UK.
He's touring NZ on this bike over 6 months, gotta hand it to the guy, he's living his dream!

This is the Beer Garden at the Tai Tapu Hotel, lots of cool bikes and American cars. They show up every Sunday afternoon.

Cool pics! My son had a 955i Triple just like that yellow one. That front end on that ol pickup is sweet. What kind of truck is it?

Beautiful country , and scenery . I like your license plate size over other countries that run that large honking yellow square . In the US our plates are small , but the young riders feel the need to mount them improperly were you can not see or read the plate .

Stunning pix! Lovely scenery! I just fell in love with that orangebrownish car with black top (6th and 7th pic) What is it? Never saw something like that before.

Yeah, we get the same thing here.
We have a Warrant of Fitness system here with rules for motor vehicles.
The license plate must be mounted where you can see it from all angles but a lot of bikers mount the plates in odd positions and end up becoming a target for the revenue collectors ( aka NZ Police) and copping a fine.
Our cops do NOT give warnings.

That my friend, is a 1934 Chevrolet sedan with a chopped and lowered roof by the looks of it.
Here's a pic of another one, in standard trim.

We have a LOT of American cars here in NZ, people restore them and Hot Rod them a lot.

Knocked off work at 3.15pm seeing as it was warm, 27degC no wind and 70% humidity.
Nice ride home to Darfs from Kaiapoi, 60kms, 6.00pm.
I,ve just bought a GoPro Hero 3+ so I'll film a few rides and post 'em up!

That Mcintosh BR1 Bathurst Replica 1 is very nice , 2nd to last picture . My eldest brother did the first test of one for Australian Motorcycle News back in the day . Would love one of those in my shed . The BR2 is not nearly as handsome a bike compared to that first run model . I do know a fellow however , with a BR2 , meant to be worth a mint .

Thanks for sharing these pics and map! NZ looks like a fun place to ride!
No worries mate, yeah, NZ is one of the great riding destinations in the world I've been told by many foreign bikers I've met whilst out on my rides.
The roads are pretty crappy condition compared to Europe or the States but that's the challenging aspect of it I guess.

This is the Otira Viaduct, and the Rock Shelter, Lord of the Rings stuff huh.
I usually go at least 120mph over that viaduct coz it's so freaky and it's a major earthquake zone right there!
Check this out, amazing area to ride through, as pictured above.

Looks like another nice day today so will take the 'Busa to work again!
It's a 30 minute ride through rolling dairy/sheep pasture to the Airport where I work.
