that cop shouldnt have pulled in front of him like that. that looks like attempted manslaughter to me. the cop should be punished for his actions. you cant attempt to kill someone for what you think their action "might" cause. its very unlikely the bike would have killed anyone else on a main highway anyway. if he was speeding thru a neighborhood that would be different.

i think they should be able to use spike strips though. its a hell of alot safer than pulling out in front of someone.

oh and 7000 bucks for damages....thats outright bullshid!!! ive had cars that were rolled over and needed every body panel replaced for less than that.

For you guys who agree with the police,Ive got a little story. About two weeks ago in Kansas City an old lady was driving the wrong way on an exit ramp and killed a sport bike rider.No charges were filled against the lady( at the time)because the the police said the bike was probably speeding,with no proof(that I herd of).So it can happen to any one of us,running from the police or not.

Totally different case and in my opinion one that any lawyer worth his or her money could not get enforced.

This guy ran in a town ruled by not-so-bright LEOS so he got a not-so-bright result. If MOM presses charges with a good lawyer then things would change.

Well.... This is my observation. Was it right? HELL NO!! Why? Well, watching the video of the chase in action, the bike was gone. Now, if the LEO had a plate#, then drop him a visit later. As for Pig that pulled out (I use that term as a put down in this case, cause he doesn't deserve to be a LEO in my view) he shouldn't have done anything. Why? How could he have known it was the same bike? The reason I think this is, a few months ago, Local PD had an APB out for a yellow sportbike... well, a local pig decided it was me (because I rode a yellow CBR) and told them it was me (I know the guy, he had my name, info, etc... I USED to consider the guy a friend). So, I get a call from the PD, and have to go through convincing them it wasn't me. Now, had I been on the bike, and the other yellow bike decided to run, and they happened across me and ran into me because they said I was running... would that have been fair?

IMO I don't think your "yellow bike" incident and this guy attempting to elude are similar. I also think that the use of the word "pig" is offensive and insulting to all LEO's on this forum regardless of your explaination or reasoning for using it.

The cop is an idiot But I don't think there is anything wrong with what he did. OUr country needs some tougher consequences for morons. If you want to run from the police they should just slam into you. I bet you will never think about running again, and I bet everyone who watched that tape will think wice before trying to run. but the actions to stop him do seem a little extreme.

a little...fawker flat out aimed for the rider, even hit the peddle to make sure he got him..then got out and lied. knowing damn well he was wrong and tried and succeded in blming the rider for the wreck and damage, complete horse poo(god i wanna cuss). no question the azzhat shouldnt be on a bike in the first place let alone running from the cops, but there is no exscuse for this crap(not in this instance). what happened to getting the plate and picking the idiot up later. i know it dosent always work. but holly mother of a god complex.....i hope he gets his azz handed to him in civil court

Well, looks like it's okay for a cop to figure that since a bike is speeding, and another bike ran but dissappeared, then this one MUST be the one that ran, so let's run his azz over to stop him. I'm not saying the guy was right in running, he's a dumbfug for doing so, but the cop... sorry, in my view of this particular one for the blatant lie afterward, PIG, didn't have the right to pull out in front of him.

Now, onto my use of the term pig. I've never met a LEO or cop I didn't like, because they are level headed and down to earth. PDbusa and the other LEO's on this board are considered my friends. PIG's on the other hand are the ones who do ANYTHING to get a promotion, even if it means stabbing someone in the back that trusts them, to get it. Or, in this case, assuming he's right to act, when he didn't even call in to see if the use of this kind of force was necessary. Looks like his lights weren't even on because, from what I've seen on most chase vids, there is an indicator at the bottom of the vid screen to show when lights are on (could be wrong on that)

More than likely due to idiots like this squid that ran like that from the police.

We, as riders, have all the chances to loose. Cagers do not see us, we have squids raising our insurance bills and doing things like this. Everytime we see a rider in the news you can bet that they are blaming him or her for something.
When we ride we have to also drive for all the cagers around us we should not just ride our bikes. It is our right but given most people's attitudes it is also a choice.

I do not justify the squid nor the cop, but you have to agree that his actions were a root cause of the outcome.

Regarding what is being said here about that lady that was driving in the wrong way, I doubt very much that it was laid out like that. A wrong way violation is that a violation punished by law. I am sure a lot more happened after that.
