Does anyone know why the Vortex chain kit is $40 more for the black chain vs. the gold? I was wondering if it has to do with tensile strengh, but I couldn't find any data.
Got this description from Revilla's product page, but it doesn't reference the color.
Maybe that's the difference.
"The RX3 chain with tri-glide seal provides 3 pockets of lubrication that reduces heat and friction, while increasing wear life by as much as 10 times over standard O-ring chains. Tensile strength of up to 11,000ft lbs.
The SX3 chain with tri-glide seal design reduces heat and friction resulting in longer wear life than a standard O-ring chain. Tensile strength of up to 9,000ft lbs."
I was interested in seeing how well a Vortex Aluminum sprocket would hold up to the abuse of a Busa. I put one on my bike to give it a run. After 8000 miles of flogging, which included two track days, the sprocket has reached it's current state. This was the sprocket new right out of the...
