Vista throttle lock?

I went to cyclegear today and I was told NOT to get the Suzuki single cable Vista throttle lock and to get the dual cable one... which they didn't have. So, my question is.. which is the correct on to get? Also, how in the world does the Vista throttle lock mount to the bike? Do you need to drill a whole in the handle bar (where the kill switch is)???
