Velocity stacks

Stock stacks are two long and two short. The way I understand is the short stacks are for upper end performance and the long stacks are for low end torque.
Has anyone replaced their stock velocity stacks with some aftermarket stacks or replaced the two long stack with two short ones? Can you tell the difference? Is it $$ well spent?

Going to all short stack will give you 2 maybe 3 hp not enough to make a difference by itself, but if do air box stack dual intake cam no air filter. Then you'll have something to write home about. If you not racing then leave it alone just change your sprokets and be happy.
