Vance and Hines Header

Ive been doing a ton of reading and research for an aftermarket header for my Gen 1. I really like the V&H header but got a reply from them that they dont make the Gen 1 header anymore. As I have done some research Ive read a lot of guys run Gen 2 V&H header on a Gen 1. My question is........are they a direct bolt on with no mods to the bike or header?
