Valve ticking or maybe not?

Hello to all!

I have noticed ticking sound. On cold engine start ticking sound appeared approx after 30-60 sec and lasts till engine full warm up.

Thought it was valves. Have removed head cover, checked clearance. So... some clearances were "on the edge" of allowed. For example on some IN valves there was clearnce of 0.17mm-0.18mm , 0.08mm - 0.18mm allowed (but 0.20mm shim does not fit).

So is it possible that the sound was from this valve?

Thanks!

PS: it's B-king ... Busa Gen2 engine.

Probably not a problem. Valves clearances actually tighten up with time. Busa engines are well known for being a bit ticky until they warm up a bit.

I know it's counter intuitive but your valves clearances are good on the larger side because they actually tighten up over time. Learned that here on the .org.

Normal on cold start up ,mine lasts 60 seconds or so,never had a problem though and covered 17000 miles ,I would like to know what causes it( suspect timing chain adjuster working ,others with more knowledge might help but its not a problem, doesn't happen on newer bikes
