Used Busa with 23,000 Miles??

Make sure you look it over good and you know what you're looking for/at. If not find a friend how knows what to look for.

How much depends on what mods, is it stock??

Charles,

Thanks for your help... Basically for 1900 more I can get a bike with just 2k on it vs. 23k. on it. If this 23k mile bike is in perfect condition what should I realistically pay for it.

Mileage can be good or bad. Engines are meant to run, not sit.

A bike that is regularly used is better than a bike that sits for a month at a time.  Remember that a 2003 that has 2k miles has probably sat in the garage for months at a time.  Also a bike with 2k miles could have been riden very hard and won't be as dependable as a bike with 23k miles that has been taken care of.

What matters more than mileage is how hard its been riden.  But since you'll likely never know how hard it was riden, mileage is all that you can go on plus the condition of the bike.

Also, evaluate the owner.  Is he the one and only or have there been numerous owners.  An owner who waxes the bike and keeps the paint looking great, probably takes good care of the bike mechanically.

Find someone there that knows how to look at a used bike and go take a look at the bike.  Then try and see how low the guy will go on price.  At this point you have to go for what is right for you and what your gut tells you.

Good luck
