I use a camel back hiking bag that I have. It works really well out here. I can put 3 liters of water in it and still have room for rain gear and some other things. It also has a water proof cover you can put on it if need be.
I actually work for Under Armour and I can tell you that "our" backpacks work very well for riding. We have a sweet hiking backpack that would be AWESOME for longer trips. Let me know if you want one...I get a pretty nice discount
