Turbo Sizes

I'm in the process of purchasing me a turbo what are the different size turbos that are available from small to large? I want to purchase a size that can net me a max of 400hp but my target goal is 350. I would like for it to fit under the faring's of my 05 LE Hayabusa

GTX3076. u say 350-400 hp. is that on pump gas or C16? ur leaving too much info out concerning ur build to say one way or the other

I think that 3076 or the comp equivalent is the one that comes with Richard's stage 1 and 2 kit which fits perfectly under my fairing even with the small air filter and fits your HP range with some to spare. I think once you get into the 35r or 40 is when you have to start looking at clearance. Call RCC though, his prices and customer service are great.

When I am looking at turbo hp ratings, when it says 400 is that an additional 400 or what my bike will make total.

No that is the total rear wheel output.
No offence but your question shows to me that you better buy a kit from a reputable manufacturer and not try and build it your self because total power output depends on a lot of parameters not only the turbo size.
In my mind (my opinion) there are only 3 manufacturers world wide, Mcxpress (if it is still building motorcycle turbo kits), RCC and BigCC

Thanks for the concern but I'm fine I promise. Just didn't know if it was the same for motorcycles like cars. When in ever I'm adding forced induction or nitrous to any projects,I like to make sure even if it's to an answer I think I already know. This will be my first turbo build on a bike so from this vantage point no question is too dumb. But again thank for the concern but I don't want to purchase a put together kit. The intercooler and plumbing I'm going to fabricate myself. To purchase it fully prefabricated takes away from the excitement of the build. So I will take my chances

I am glad that you did not get offended from my comment because that was not my intention.
About making you own turbo kit all i can say is that i fully understand what you mean so i genuinely wish you good luck and success with your project.
This site has more than enough information to answer all your questions.

Hey brother I get it! There are a million things that can go wrong if you don't understand the basics to this type of setup. Like many other subscribers here I'm trying to gather as much information as I can from other peoples experience. So the questions may seem a little novice but it's only to ensure that I've captured as much info that I can. I love the performance shops but you also have to pay the sometimes ridiculious prices. So most of the fabrication and plumbing I will do myself and leave the tuning and dynoing to the experts. It's just a matter of time before I get the machines to do my own dyno's from my garage. Again thanks and no worries with the comments it's a blog I wouldn't expect anything less. There a beauty in every struggle!!!!

Has anyone heard of Conrods, I saw on another post that they were using them in their turbo build. I'm looking for honest feedback as I know that some people are married to certain brands. I just want to know honestly are these H-Beam Connecting rods any good.

if u tryn to cut corners find another part to do it with. I've never heard of anyone using that rod in any Pro street motor build but wud they hold up to 400 hp? probably but I wudnt want to chance my $8k motor on it nor wud I chance a $2500 motor.

go with Carrillo HD rods if u want something proven past 600 hp.

How I luv assumptions. Cutting corners, who said that! I simply posted about a brand that I found on this website. I'm not a pro street rider just simply shooting for part that will support 400hp max not 600hp. I'm familiar with Carrillo Rods, but their are also other good brands out there like K1, Wossner Monlar etc. Now weather you agree or disagree history and stats have show that these are all really good rods especially in the power range I'm looking for without the Carrillo price tag. The rod in question is rated at 600hp so by me only needing 400hp is this zone safe enough to try these rods out. I'm just simply looking for other customers that have tried them. I understand that you are probally a dealer sold on certain brands. Me as a customer I'm not! I simply want a part that would work for my setup. As long as the company has a quality reputation, good price and great customer service Carrillo will stay as number 3 on my selection list. They are entirely too expensive for the setup I'm looking for. The K1 and Wossner's will be purchase before I consider Carrillo. They are more than adequate for my application.

lol try these rods out.... yea ok u do that u TRY them out. wat do u think their like air filters u just TRY them out and if they don't work u just swap em out smh ur absolutely clueless dude really! no assumptions just FACTS! dude ur confusing car rods with motorcycle rods. no one uses K1 rods or Monlar rods in Motorcycle builds these days. in fact I don't know ANYONE who has ever used K1 rods in a motorcycle build so ur talking out of ur ass.

and my Wossner rod twisted at 350 hp on low boost on C16 and destroyed my entire motor just as it has for many others. I know you seem to have all the answers but the reality is you dont! but hey go ahead and learn the hard way. its ur money!

and no I'm not a dealer I'm just someone who has actually tried rods that have failed in my Busa motor. can you say the same? no I didn't think so.... well wen u melt ur motor don't say u weren't warned and ur #3 choice will be ur number #1 choice wen ur piecing ur motor back together.

How much use and at what power level were the above mentioned rods at before you had the failure GNBRETT?

light street use and 350 hp while on the dyno. they make great Pistons but I wud never use their rods again ever! junk imo.

An alternative view on the wossner rods. Not to point fingers Brett, I have read your story on the rods, but there's so many variables to say the rods suck, that's just a blanket statement.
You cite many others but again you don't know their setup, tune, who built it, etc.
I'm sure Powerhouse built your motor, if so I would say its not a build problem. Powerhouse is good stuff
Carillo's have also been documented to fail.
I am no dealer for any brand I just want to use the best for my application.

My bike has seen light street use and several hard pulls on the dyno at 350 all the way up to 410@ 20lbs. Several at above 400.

Gen2
Wossner rods/pistons
ARP head studs
65lb valve springs/Stainless Valves
RCC Stage 2 with Comp 5558 turbo
RCC intercooler
65lb injectors

Little dyno porn

I see my builder isn't the only APE stud scaredy cat. He would not install the APE studs I bought. I had to buy ARP. So, I have a complete gen 1 set of APE studs for sale, not the 1/2". Still in wrapper. Will sell for 1/2 what I paid for them.

Holy poop, what is your rev limiter set to? That sounded like 12.5k revs. And the 20lb pulls, were they at pump gas?
