I found a dealer close by with an honest $100 difference between the 40th bike and the standard colors. They quoted me $11,200 over the phone. I'm going to go there tomorrow morning in person and offer $10,800 out the door with a decent helmet and a discount on other gear that I may want. I've tried to go lower but the killer is my county's sales tax @ friggin' 7%!!!

They also have a black/grey '03 in stock. If they won't cut the deal on the 40th I may see what they'll do on the black/grey. That's the color combo I was probably going to get before I saw the orange 40th in person. Also, that is what I asked for when I called. Didn't want to even mention the orange unless they did.

He mentioned the orange because he had two of 'em in stock. He said he ordered heavy on the orange. Maybe he's having a hard time moving them. Maybe...

Anyway, wish me luck. I hope to be able to bring it home this weekend. I *will* own a busa... eventually.

Good Luck Man, stick to your Guns. $11.2K doesn't sound too bad. If that is an out the door price I mean.
You'll get what you want, just be patient. The longer the hunt, the sweeter the catch.

Yep, $11,200 is out the door for a 40th. Best price I've been able to get quoted so far out of five Georgia dealers. I really think they'll go for $10,800. I might have to walk out and let them call me back but I'm willing to walk for $400 difference. Someone will sell me a bike for my price.

You can get one from champion cycle center in chicago for $9400, have goldrush motorsports ship it for $500 dollars to your door for a total of about $9900, would take a week to ship probly tho. Just a suggestion.

Tsss, funny to see americans whine about their taxes (no insult intended) ... Just come live in Belgium and buy a bike:

Note: Btw, the Busa is currently at 13.500 Euro ... that's roughly over 15.000$ ... I desperately need to move ...

Well good luck Wannabusa, the question is not IF you'll have a Busa, but simply WHEN. The longer you have to wait, the better they get. Of course, I hope it works out for you NOW.

Well, they went for my offer of $10,800 out the door with a black chrome windscreen ($75 on price tag) thrown in and 50% off of a matching Shoei "Hayabusa" helmet. Both orange 40th bikes were sold (one gone, one with deposit down) so I went with silver/grey. That was my original color choice anyway with black/grey being second until I saw the orange.

Anyway, I put down a deposit and I have the financing in the works (bringing my own). They are gonna service the bike and do pre-delivery and I'll pick it up next week. Probably be Thursday since I can't get the insurance written or financing done until Monday and I work mon-tues. The dealer is closed wednesday... It will be the longest 5 days of my life!!! I can't wait to ride that baby!!!!! Wooooooohoooooooooooo!!! I'll soon be puttin' around like a paw paw on the worlds fastest production machine!!!
