Could replacing the trigger spring to get a slightly lighter pull have any effect on the striking force of the hammer?

yes . To light can make for unreliable firing. Is this a Smith&Wesson ? Whos kit for the gun ?

I thought the main spring was responsible for setting off the striker/firing pin and that the trigger spring only dealt with how easy or hard the trigger pull is. Just a question.

Depends on the revo. Different makes have different influences from the main spring. If it’s a Smith you can simply turn the screw in grip frame a tad to lighten DA pull but testing for reliable ignition afterward is still recommended.
