What are the necessities when taking a long distance trip?
What tips can you guys offer on items a novice might over look when packing for a trip?
In my case I'm considering a trip to Deals Gap 2200 mi round trip.

Did you ever read "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance"?
He actually describes everything.

Map, Rain gear, Tools, manual for your bike, lighter/matches, blanket... it's a really huge list, but he makes it work. Give it a read.

I tend to think you are riding.
I have a list made for my last trip 3800miles. I did not want for anything. Maybe one....... roads without speed limits!!

Tire plugs for those emergency flats and a small aircompressor! Saved me once and once was enough! Board sponsor Jester sells these great little compressors that come with everything you need to power it and fill a flat tire back up. It was small enough that it fit in the tail section of my bike.
