Need help...

does the engine have to be removed to get to the transmission?

I am having issues with my 2nd and 6th gear on my bike.

any and all input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Yes it does, when are you thinking of doing it?

I also need to remove a tranny on a 05 busa. Bent the out put shaft that the drive sprocket is on due to the chain breaking. Do I need to split the cases to remove the tranny and output shaft??

yes, but you can split the lower half and get it done with out messing with the top end.

if your splitting and cases for the tranny...if i was you i would

Change Forks
upgrade shaft
circlip mod?
ceramic coat gears or something along those lines.
check bearings

try to make it future proof and strong as possible without going overboard on a stockish bike

also while i was in there, ive personally been thinking about:
have APE balance the crank (you can remove the countershaft then and have a silky smooth bike) (although i wouldnt lighten it)
perhaps a HP oil gear
think about the Cam upgrade with another intake (i think)

i dont know alot about these engines, but i have been researching the best way to go incase the seemingly inevitable where to happen.

having the crank balanced silky smooth only costs about 120$ and might well be worth it. same with more fluting on the journals and the gear.
