So a Iowa drag strip that is not a sanctioned track I was planning on taking my bike to for some fun. I was reading the rules. Here they are.

Trophy Bike
1. Front and rear brakes on all entries.
2. Chain guards and clutch covers on all entries.
3. Tank mounted fuel shut off valve.
4. All must have stable and secure seat, foot pegs, and handle grips.
5. Saddlebag must be empty or removed on all bikes.
6. Helmet and leather jacket required and pants would be preferred.
7. No shorts or open toe shoes.

Money Bike
1. Front and rear brakes on all entries.
2. Chain guards and clutch covers on all entries.
3. Tank mounted fuel shut off valve.
4. All must have stable and secure seat, foot pegs, and handle grips.
5. Saddlebag must be empty or removed on all bikes.
6. Helmet and leather jacket required, and pants would be preferred.
7. No shorts or open toe shoes.
8. NO DELAY BOX.
9. Air shifter allowed.

Tank mounted fuel shut off valve? Is this normal and how in heck could you even do that? Guess I’ll be screwed my swing arm don’t have a chain guard and I don’t have a leather jacket also.

Sounds like basic rules. Don't worry about the petcock. The track I race at in WI they don't know the rules very well.

Rules here are fairly relaxed for friday night racing. Had a buddy run in chuck's and jeans. They really only cared about pants of some kind, jacket (motorcycle), helmet, and gloves. Bike was basically run what you brung.
The real bike nights are more like your post says. More specific on jacket etc and equipment.
